This year, I was invited to attend TPE 2025 – a B2B expo that specializes in the tobacco, smokeless tobacco, nicotine, nicotine alternative, cannabis industry. Given the focus of this trade show, I was surprised to see a robust Rolodex of cigar brands in attendance. Attendance was strong on day I attended and saw many notable cigar faces including Robert Fox (Fox Cigar), Tim Swanson (Cigars Daily), Charlie Minato (Halfwheel), Roger (Las Vegas Cigar Outlet), and many more.
I only saw a handful of new products, including a new line from E.P. Carrillo named Endure which features Cameroon wrapper from the Meerapfel family. Ferio Tego introduced Metropolitan Petites with dimensions of 4 x 34 and arrive in a Connecticut and Maduro version.
Lastly, La Aurora displayed a very unique (and limited) cigar, La Aurora Small Batch Lot No. 006 that features a rope of Mexican San Andres tobacco around the perfecto cigar. Production is limited to 137 boxes of 10 cigars with an estimated release date of February 2025.
Exhibitors at TPE 2025 included: Aganorsa Leaf, Altadis USA, C.L.E. Cigar Company, Cavalier Genève, Crowned Heads, OZ Family Cigars, Davidoff of Geneva USA, Drew Estate, E.P. Carrillo, Espinosa Cigars, Ferio Tego, Fratello Cigars, General Cigar Co., J.C Newman Cigar Company, Jake Wyatt Cigar Co., Kristoff Cigars, La Aurora USA, Oliva Cigar Company, PDR Cigars, Plasencia, United Cigars

For today’s unboxing, we have a blend I’ve been wanting to get more familiar with: Arturo Fuente Don Carlos. Named in honor of its legendary creator and Fuente family patriarch Don Carlos Fuente, Sr.
In order to create this unique blend, Carlos Fuente, Sr. blended together rare, vintage tobaccos that were hand selected and aged as much as 10 years. Arturo Fuente Don Carlos cigars are rich and flavorful with flawless African Cameroon wrappers.
Due to the select tobaccos required, these cigars are among the finest cigars rolled at Tabacalera A. Fuente in the Dominican Republic. Carlos ‘Carlito’ Fuente, Jr. strives for perfection in every cigar that bears his father’s name, which means always selecting flawless wrapper and color, rich in flavor and with superior construction as only his father would expect.
Michael Cafagno of The Tobacconist of Greenwich fame sits with Eat Drink Smoke Podcast to celebrate 50 years of his illustrious and famed cigar store. Listen how Michael Cafagno continues to honor the timeless tradition of ToG while also adapting to a changing business landscape in an otherwise timeless industry. A must listen to all cigar connoisseurs.

The Eladio Díaz 71 Aniversario Cigar is a special limited-edition release, crafted to honor the legendary blender Eladio Díaz on his 71st birthday. This premium cigar features an Ecuadorian Corojo ’99 wrapper, a rich Mexican San Andrés binder, and a unique filler blend of Dominican Corojo, Dominican Habano ’92, and barrel-aged Havana Vuelta Arriba (HVA) tobaccos. Hand-selected tobaccos from the regions of San Juan de la Maguana and Las Matas de Farfán in the Dominican Republic add a distinct character, drawing from their mineral-rich, high pH soils that contribute to the cigar’s strength and creamy texture. The cigar is presented in a refined Toro size, measuring 6 inches by a 54-ring gauge, and is limited to just 2,000 boxes of 10, making it a sought-after collector’s item.
