  • Plasencia Cigars Announces El Año del Caballo

EL AÑO DEL CABALLO – THE YEAR OF THE HORSE EDITION.

Drawing on 160 years of family tobacco legacy, this limited release
honors the symbolic elegance of the horse while redefining
the art of premium cigar construction.

The centerpiece of the Parejo Gordo (7x 58) vitola is its signature
horse-braid cap, a rare artisanal flourish executed by a trio of expert
craftsmen: a master buncher, braider, and roller.

The process requires twice the time of a standard cigar and precision humidity control to maintain the cap’s structural integrity. Each braid is sealed with a dual pañuelo wrap, preserving the integrity of this heirloom-quality finish.

The tasting journey evokes the horse’s dynamic spirit – beginning with a graceful touch of creamy cacao and soft florals, evolving into toasted woods and subtle spice, and finishing with a long resonance of roasted nuts and sun-dried raisins. Each draw embodies the balance of power and elegance that defines the Plasencia legacy.

  • Now Live – Total Product Expo 2025 Las Vegas Show Coverage

This year, I was invited to attend TPE 2025 – a B2B expo that specializes in the tobacco, smokeless tobacco, nicotine, nicotine alternative, cannabis industry. Given the focus of this trade show, I was surprised to see a robust Rolodex of cigar brands in attendance. Attendance was strong on day I attended and saw many notable cigar faces including Robert Fox (Fox Cigar), Tim Swanson (Cigars Daily), Charlie Minato (Halfwheel), Roger (Las Vegas Cigar Outlet), and many more.

I only saw a handful of new products, including a new line from E.P. Carrillo named Endure which features Cameroon wrapper from the Meerapfel family. Ferio Tego introduced Metropolitan Petites with dimensions of 4 x 34 and arrive in a Connecticut and Maduro version.

Lastly, La Aurora displayed a very unique (and limited) cigar, La Aurora Small Batch Lot No. 006 that features a rope of Mexican San Andres tobacco around the perfecto cigar. Production is limited to 137 boxes of 10 cigars with an estimated release date of February 2025.

Exhibitors at TPE 2025 included: Aganorsa Leaf, Altadis USA, C.L.E. Cigar Company, Cavalier Genève, Crowned Heads, OZ Family Cigars, Davidoff of Geneva USA, Drew Estate, E.P.
